Our new massage therapist, Jennifer Parsley, is a Licensed Massage Therapist offering therapeutic massage tailored to your needs. Jennifer is a graduate of the Massage Institute of Memphis and has experience in a variety of therapeutic massage and bodywork techniques including Swedish, relaxation, stretching, sports and deep tissue.

Jennifer is also a Healing Touch for Animals Practitioner.  Healing Touch for Animals (HTA) is an energy field therapy that supports the body to self-heal.  HTA techniques use light touch or near body touch to clear, balance and stabilize the animal’s energy system to promote healing.  These techniques for animals are used as a cooperative adjunct with traditional veterinary medicine to provide the very best healthcare for our animals.

Jennifer is a student of Healing Touch (for humans), an energy therapy in which practitioners consciously use their hands in a heart-centered and intentional way to support and facilitate physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. The goal of Healing Touch is to restore balance and harmony in the energy system placing the client in a position to self-heal. Jennifer has a BS in Chemical Engineering and an MBA. She consciously decided to leave the corporate chemical industry after an 18 year career and create a new career path in the healing arts.

Since ancient times, people have known that exposure to sunshine can maintain and enhance health. Sun
therapy is a form of natural FIR (far infrared rays) thermal therapy. Far Infrared Rays are the invisible rays of
natural sunlight that have the longest wavelength. By contrast, sunbathing (sunlight) contains ultra-violet rays
which can burn the skin. There is also no temperature control, and sunshine is only available seasonally.

Infrared rays are safe and can easily penetrate human tissue creating a natural resonance, which has many
beneficial properties. You can be exposed to far infrared heat for hours and it will never cause your skin to burn.
Far infrared heat is completely healthy and safe for all living things and has actual been used in hospitals for
decades to warm newborn infants (modern incubators).

All humans send and receive Far infrared waves. The range of waves generated by the human body is
6 to 20 microns. The optimal micron output range is between 7 and 14 microns which is very close to the
resonant frequency of a water molecule. This similarity makes sense since our bodies are almost 70% water.
This range, sometimes referred to as “Vital Rays” appears to have special regenerative effects on the body.
When far infrared waves are applied to water molecules, these molecules begin to vibrate. This vibration
reduces the ion bonds and the eventual breakdown of the water molecules causes encapsulated gases and
other toxic materials to be released.

The main difference between near infrared and far infrared sauna technology is the type of light/heat delivered.

Near infrared uses infrared heat in the range of 600-950nm. Far infrared delivers light in the 3000 nm – 1mm
wavelength range. As for the effects on the human body, the skin has no photoreceptors that are able to absorb
or process far infrared light, so the far infrared saunas provide heat therapy, not near infrared phototherapy.
What’s the advantage of near infrared in saunas?

Although there are many physical similarities between near infrared saunas and other sauna types, the near
infrared therapy has some distinct advantages: Near infrared uses part of the natural visible light spectrum to
provide heat to the body. Utilizing the chromopores in our cells, which act as photoreceptors for the near
infrared light, exposure to near infrared light acts as light therapy which can penetrate muscle tissue deeper,
potentially unlocking even harder-to-reach chemicals and toxins.

Near infrared (NIR) light has dozens of biological effects on the body. The near infrared wavelength radiation
penetrates into the body and has a direct effect on cellular structure. NIR can kill parasites and resolve infection.
An important thing to understand about the near infrared spectrum is that human biology has evolved over
millions of years receiving it and growing with it. Getting adequate NIR is essential for health.

So, here is the healing protocol we recommend. Start with a 30 – 45 minute Infrared sauna session with salt foot blocks, warmed of course,
then follow your SWEAT with an 8 stage purifying shower that finishes with a Vitamin C filter.  You just spent time detoxing the heavy
metals from your body, so when you shower, you certainly do not want to add them back.  Our purifying shower washes away what you just
sweated out with filtered, healthy water.

By now, most of you have heard of  “red light therapy.”  Our Medical Grade Chromotherapy light (inside our sauna) is red light plus all of
the visual light in the spectrum.   Its great for relaxation, healing, detox, and is a proven anti-inflammatory. The best part is that it’s included
with your Sauna session.
